<DIV class=comText>最近我的學校因為教務處公開各班期中考的成績排名, 而引起學校導師很大的反彈.

讓我們看一看美國如何執行 No Child Left Behind 的計劃.

How No Child Left Behind Affects Your School

Under the federal No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB), all states are required to test students in grades 3 through 8 in reading and math, and at least once during grades 10 through 12, on an annual basis. Beginning in 2007-2008, states will have to add a science test. Each state decides which tests to administer and what the standards should be.

Schools are required to demonstrate "adequate yearly progress (AYP)" for all groups of students. This could mean that a school generally considered to be high-achieving in the past might not make AYP according to NCLB if its English language learners or students with disabilities can’t meet minimum proficiency levels. Schools that do not make progress face consequences, and students receive the option to transfer to a better performing school and/or receive free tutoring.
